On 27th December 1941, a formation of Blenheims carried out a bombing raid on the airfield at Herdla near Bergen. The raid was in support of Operation Archery, a commando landing on Vaagsoy, and was designed to keep the Luftwaffe fighter force away from the operational area.
Two Blenheims were lost when they collided in the vicinity of the target area.
